AFLEX consulted with partners on a project aimed at empowering and developing women leaders.
The Vice Chief, Programs Hiwot Alemayehu opened the meeting for consultation. In her opening remarks she shared the academy’s journey and its collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop the Women’s Leadership Development Project (WLDP) in support of the advancement of women’s influence in decision-making.
The program will collaborate with government and non-government organizations to empower women leaders and enable them obtain and maintain mid-management roles.
The purpose of the consultation was to set the selection criteria for program admission, and identify future challenges during implementation.
Mesfin, the Program Manager, provided a broad presentation on the program and answered questions form participants.
