Academy President Engages in Productive Dialogue with UNECA

In a significant move towards fostering collaboration and enhancing leadership capabilities across Ethiopia and Africa, The African Leadership Excellence Academy President, Zadig Abreha and UN Under-Secretary-General and, Executive Secretary of ECA, Claver Gatete, engaged in a fruitful discussion on potential partnerships and collaborative efforts aimed at Ethiopian and African leaders’ Development Program, Africanization project, Joint research, and facility sharing for Global meetings and convention.

During the meeting, President Zadig Abreha outlined various partnership areas that could effectively unlock the best Ethiopian and African potentials for senior leaders’ capacity building. His vision emphasized the importance of creating sustainable pathways for leadership development, the Africanization project and The African Davos program which he believes is critical for the region’s progress.

“I am excited about the potential for our partnership to cultivate and develop Ethiopian and African leaders who can drive thought leadership and positive change in their countries,” Zadig Abreha stated. “By transforming and scaling up AFLEX Visions, we can enhance the capabilities of our leaders and effectively address the pressing challenges that our leaders face.”

UN Under-Secretary-General and, Executive Secretary of ECA, Claver Gatete, expressing his appreciation for the President’s comprehensive presentation, highlighted the critical need for such collaborative efforts. He commended the AFLEX for its forward-thinking initiatives and noted his institution’s eagerness to work closely with the African Leadership Excellence Academy to realize these ambitious goals.

“I am genuinely impressed by the strategic areas of partnership outlined by President,” said Claver Gatet. “I firmly believe that together, we can design an impactful Leadership Development curriculum and foster exchange programs that will position our senior leaders for success.

The dialogue underscored a shared commitment to building the capacity of leadership across various sectors, paving the way for innovative solutions and impactful change.

Both leaders agreed to continue exploring avenues for collaboration, with plans to establish a framework for developing leadership development programs tailored to the specific needs of senior leaders in the region.
