Addis Ababa; January 24, 2025 (AFLEX) – The African Leadership Excellence Academy (AFLEX) has partnered with the Addis Ababa University School of Journalism and Communication to strengthen media and communication leadership development.

Following discussions on collaboration areas, a memorandum of understanding was signed today at AFLEX headquarters. Ms. Mesret Desta, Vice Chief of Leadership Development, represented AFLEX and highlighted key collaboration areas, including a specialized communication leadership program, research, consulting, and crisis management support.

“Since communication is vital for leadership quality, this cooperation is essential for building capacity across sectors,” she stated.

Dr. Abdulaziz Dino, head of the university’s School of Journalism and Communication, noted that leaders must understand and effectively apply communication as a science. He emphasized that this partnership will significantly benefit Ethiopia’s media and communication leadership sector. Media leadership is among the specialized programs offered by AFLEX.
