Addis Ababa, November 11, 2024 – The African Leadership Excellence Academy and the Ethiopian Joint Council of Political Parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance democratic governance and build the capacity of political leaders.

The agreement aims to create programs for leadership training, democratic governance, and capacity building, while establishing a cooperative framework between the Joint Council and AFLEX.

This strategic partnership will focus on several collaborative areas, including the joint development of leadership training materials for political organizations, increased cooperation in leadership development, conflict resolution, nation-building, and efforts to improve the country’s political culture.

AFLEX President Zadig Abreha emphasized the importance of strong leadership for political parties, stating that working together to cultivate such leadership is vital for the country’s future.

Mr. Desta Dinka, Chairman of the Joint Council, expressed that this cooperation will greatly aid in achieving the council’s goals by providing essential training and facilitating consultation forums and research initiatives for member parties.

This partnership is expected to significantly contribute to the development of leadership skills and the establishment of a democratic system in Ethiopia.
