Addis Ababa – March 10, 2025 (AFLEX) – International Women’s Day, marked globally for the 114th time and the 49th in our country, and was celebrated at AFLEX Headquarters with an event involving all employees.

The event included sharing experiences, a question-and-answer session, and discussions on women’s rights, empowerment, and gender equality.

Deputy Head of Leadership Development, Ms. Mesret Desta, spoke about the challenges women face and emphasized that while progress has been made, much work remains. “To ensure sustainable change, we must significantly increase women’s participation,” she stated. “We will intensify our struggle for gender equality while fulfilling our responsibilities at home and work.”

AFLEX is dedicated to promoting gender equality in leadership through initiatives such as the Women’s Leadership Development Program, which recently graduated 50 female middle managers.

This year’s International Women’s Day, celebrated in Ethiopia under the motto “Rapid and Sustainable Inclusive Change is Ensured through Women’s Participation,” encourages all employees to contribute to advancing gender equality in leadership.
