AFLEX hosts a ground-breaking discussion on advancing leadership excellence with U.S. institutions

Addis Ababa, November 26, 2024 (AFLEX) The African Leadership Excellence Academy hosted a high-profile virtual meeting today to advance collaboration with leading U.S. institutions under the theme, “Advancing Leadership Excellence Through Collaboration.” This pivotal discussion focused on building partnerships for leadership development, research, and consultancy initiatives.

Mr. Zadig Abreha, President of AFLEX, opened the meeting by emphasizing the importance of global partnerships in driving excellence and innovation in leadership. He expressed the Academy’s ambition to work closely with prestigious institutions such as Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Howard University. 

“AFLEX envisions a collaborative platform where expertise and shared values can create transformative leadership programs,” said President Zadig Abreha. “Our goal is to connect with world-class institutions to build a generation of leaders equipped to face complex global challenges.” 

During the virtual session, participants aligned with President Zadig’s vision and highlighted their readiness to collaborate. Syracuse University representatives, Dr. Steven Lux and Dr. Xueyi Chen, underscored the critical role of the Leadership Development program and shared insights on best practices for leadership development.

The Academy’s leadership expressed its gratitude for the enthusiastic participation and the actionable outcomes of the discussion. This meeting marks a major step forward in fostering global academic and leadership partnerships to inspire a new wave of leaders. 

In a significant outcome, AFLEX and Eleos signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly implement leadership development programs and explore the broader collaboration areas identified earlier. 

A key highlight of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mrs. Meseret Desta, Vice Chief of Academy, Leadership Development, representing AFLEX, and Ms. Kidist Gebreamlak, CEO of Eleos.

The MoU established a partnership to implement leadership development programs and explore broader areas of collaboration, including consultancy and research.
